After nearly 20 years, John Kennedy Transport has made the extremely difficult decision to cease operating the Ring & Ride service from the 30th of November. Many factors have influenced this decision, all of which have been exacerbated in the last 3 years due to Brexit, a pandemic and a spiralling cost of living.
We are however very aware, how this will impact the Tiree community and will aim to provide a private alternative. A pre-book private hire service will allow us the flexibility to offer a service that can accommodate driver availability whilst being financially sustainable for us.
It should be noted that our school bus service, 499, is also a public service bus which can be, and is already, used for pick ups and drop offs along that route.
We wish to thank all the customers who have supported us by using this service over the last 20 years.
